I did a quick repair job for my in-laws for free as I wanted to work with again with the stone I had grown up around after all this time.
The section of wall had fallen down some time ago and some temporary fencing was just about keeping stock

Most of the stone was burried on the fairly steep earth slope behind the wall. This meant a lot of digging them out and throwing stones uphill, a good workout! Luckily the earth was dry and I manged to get enough stones to fill most of the gap.

The rebuild took a couple of hard days work. I didn’t use a string line this time and later wished I had. The coursing is there (by eye) but it is not really running as nicely as I would like into the adjoining sections.
Gap gone!
Still only sheep, cattle and the occastional farmer will have to look at it, and it’s definitely better than it was.
